The Problem

February 15, 2026

The problem

is that I want to do too many things-

Not just in a day, but more things than my lifespan will allow.

(Painting, writing; observing nature, birds; taking care of my home, the people I love.)

If you ask me if I want to use "AI" to accomplish any of those things,

I will say "no!"

Since you misunderstand—

it's not that I want those things to be done

but that I want to do them

You might then suggest that there is some value in "AI" to, if not accomplish things, pose these philosophical questions about making.

I will say "no!"

For years we have asked "if you could make a copy of yourself so you could get twice as much done, would you?"

And my answer was the same!

I want to do those things, not have someone else do them!

We do not need "AI" for anything! We've pondered the value of doing for ages without it!

It is not intelligent! It is only artifice!

If it were intelligent, it would know:

There are too many things I want to do,

more than I can complete in a lifetime,

and to have to choose which I can do,

causes me grief,

but also,

makes the living so precious.

Living is not a problem

that ought to be solved.
